New Patients

Welcome to our practice! We will make every effort to insure that your experience at our office is a comfortable and relaxing one. You will sense right away that we are a family of  warm and friendly professionals who truly care about our patients. Your initial appointment will be an evaluation and exam; this visit allows us to establish a relationship and to obtain important background information such as your medical history. At this appointment  Dr. Oppenheimer or Dr. Ramsey or Dr. Brockway will evaluate your oral health and then explain your diagnosis and treatment options.  We work closely and maintain communication with your referring dentist (usually your general dentist) throughout your treatment experience.

Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to the office by providing the following information:

  • Your referral slip and x-rays from your referring dentist
  • A list of medications you are currently taking
  • Insurance cards or any forms if you have dental insurance

Please Note: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation appointment. Please notify the office if you have a medical condition or concern prior to surgery (e.g. artificial heart valves or joints, heart murmurs requiring premedication, severe diabetes, or hypertension.) If your referring dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they be forwarded to us.

Scheduling

Our Doctors are available Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. In addition, we will see emergency patients the same day, if at all possible. Please call our office to schedule your appointment.

Insurance Information

Our insurance coordinators deal with many different insurance companies. We will be happy to file a dental claim with your insurer on your behalf. We understand the value of insurance benefits that you receive from your employer (who has negotiated and purchased a certain level of benefits for you). As long as you provide us with insurance benefit information in advance, we can try and obtain from your insurance company an estimate of your benefits for any needed treatment.  Please note that insurance companies may take several weeks to provide this information. Also, be aware that some companies will not give us fee estimates until treatment is completed.

As you are probably aware, insurance companies change benefits, co-pays and deductibles faster than we (or you) can keep up. We currently work with many insurance plans and do our best to provide you with accurate coverage estimates based on information available to us at the time. Although we will gladly file your claim on your behalf, you may wish to submit the claim yourself. In general,  insurers process claims filed directly by patients faster than those filed by the service providers (dental offices).

Further, most dental insurance policies are limited and often only pay for a portion of the procedures that may need to be done.
